The role of CO2 in micro-algae growth research
Final year project at Glasgow University. With atmospheric CO2 increasing, I was interested in micro-algae because it can turn CO2 into biofuel. I decided to research the optimal condition for the growth of micro-algae species (Nannochloropsis Oculata).
I designed and created an experiment rig setup to study how C02 level affect the micro-alage growth
2% CO2 level is optimal for Nannochloropsis Oculata growth. Therefore, it is great for biofuel production with atmospheric CO2 but not suitable for exhaust gas (15% CO2)
